Martin leaves behind -
Wife Lesley
3 Children Lorna, James and Sam
1 Brother Norman
9 Grandchildren
Martin was a wonderful family man and looked after not just his own family but to all extended family members.
Anyone in trouble knew that Martin was the first person to call.
He was very into his motorbikes and in the 60s there was no mistaking that he was a rocker not a mod
With his height and deep voice he was nicknamed Lurch and although to his own children he was a gentle giant, many of their childhood friends took some convincing when he answered the door. It was a couple of years later before Lesley even knew his as Martin.
During his working life, up to his final job refuelling planes, Martin always gained the respect of his Colleagues.
Lesley and Martin were like Ying and Yang, Martin was quiet and courteous and the rest speaks for itself.
Martin and his brother Norman were reminiscing just the other week about the fun they had as children, a memory that stuck out for both of them was the time they made a giant hollow snowball which they filled with smaller snowballs, then hid waiting for their father to come home to pelt him with.
Martin was a very proud man and carried his illness like a trouper, no fuss, he often said "it is what it is" and that was Martin.
He will be so very missed by his family and friends and will never be forgotten.
He was one in a million!
